Drugs and Pregnancy

If you smoke weed during your pregnancy and admit it to the midwife - will you be tested throughout your pregnancy for it and what will happen if you show up positive?

Firstly, I would say DON'T SMOKE WEED during your pregnancy.

Secondly, if you do, don't tell your midwife, you could be opening a can of worms for yourself and your baby in the future.

You shouldn't smoke anything during your pregnancy esp not drugs!

Smoking increases the risk of premature labour, stillbirth and other complications.

You need to think of your unborn-child's health, instead of worying about getting caught.

Stop the drugs, ask the midwife for help.

My neighbour is without her 4 children (one was taken as she gave birth) because of taking drugs (albeit crack cocaine) when pregnant.

perhaps Im using that as a scare tactic, perhaps Im not. But that woman is without her children and was taking drugs when pregnant.

are you seriously asking how not to get caught out when smoking weed when pregnant??? DON'T smoke it! It is not good for the health of your baby and that should be your main concern.

I can't honestly believe you've posted this! You haven't even asked if smoking weed affects your baby, let alone 'telling the midwife'. There are women who would give anything to be in your position & in my opinion deserve to be more than you (by your post), count yourself a very luck lady & QUIT!!!!

If a woman want's to cause self damage by taking drugs then fine, but how dare anyone inflict this disgusting habit on their unborn child. In my opinion, any woman who does, should have their child taken into care as soon as it's born.

I've been trying for a baby for 6 months (I have a medical condition which has damaged my fertility).

If you don't want your baby, I'll have it.

There are lots of women out there, myself being one of them, that would do anything to have a baby.

Why is it always the people who don't give a damn that seem to end up getting pregnant? Sometimes I wonder where the justice is....

1+ Beanie. I know quite a few women who smoked, drank, went clubbing throught their pregnacies and their babies were fine. But other friends who went by the book had complications. It infuriates me! Best wishes for your pregnancy. It will happen, I'm sure. XXX.

it makes my blood boil when i see pregnant women smoking during pregnancy, let alone smoking weed, its such a selfish act, what about the health of the baby? The midwife has to by law to inform social services if there is drug misuse throughout pregnancies, its no better than child abuse. Dont be suprised if they turn up during your labour and delivery, they could have a court order in place and evrything by the time its born to take the baby into care. This is not just a scare tactic.....this does happen!

Just stop taking drugs .

My adopted sister was took from her parents seconds after she gave birth to her because she was taking drugs.

If you want you child you should listen to the advice of the good people on answer bank.
