Blood Presssure Early Pregnancy
Hello - I'm 9 wks pregnant (hooray!) at my booking in apt with the midwife my BP was 100/60 which she said was quite low. I've never really understood whats good/bad in terms of BP (obviously know high BP bad) - can anyone tell me what is a good range during pregnancy please? Cheers

Whilst your BP is a little low, I wouldn't say it's dangerously low. It's always better to have lower BP than higher, especially during pregnancy, where BP can get dangerously high and you could suffer from Pre Eclampsia and gestational Diabetes.
Optimal blood pressure is 120/80, but this can vary from person to person and age. Also if you exercise alot, this can lower BP too.
I too have BP on the lower side, mine is usually 100/65 or around that and the only problem I may experience from time to time, is dizziness if I stand up quickly from a sitting position or if I'm stooping or kneeling then get up.

Hi, my BP when I was 21 and pregnant was 100/60 I was told it was low but not to worry. It was the same with my second baby. Here I am 30 years later and my BP is now 100/70. My doctor is very happy with the fact that I do not have high BP and says at my age he would expect it to be higher. As long as your lower figure does not go above 90 you should be fine and as Velvetee says the only side effect is diziness when getting up too quickly.
Congrats to both of you. Velvetee my daughter is 33 weeks and I have followed your pregnancy with interest as you seem to have had a similar pregnancy to my girl. Good luck to you both. Happy motherhood to you both.

Thank you both for your reassuring and kind replies! Velvet - its getting pretty close now eh?
My BP was OK last time round 3 years ago (in fact this baby has exact same due date as my son!) - I stopped smoking as soon s I discovered I was pregnant with him (and haven't smoked since) so it just goes to show that you can repair some of the damage from years of smoking! Wow!

Hi, im 38weeks and 2days pregnant now (scary lol)
I think its worse to have high blood pressure rather than low.
My blood pressure has been low throughout my pregnancy until now, my last app with midwife on wed, she said my blood pressure was quite high.
I'm having to go for a scan on mon as my bump hasn't grown since last measured, 2weeks ago.
I'm hoping everythings ok
