Hi all

Well, just got back from the midwife who has told me that we're all good to go (head engaged), just waiting for the hormones to kick in. She also said that it felt really big and she wouldn't be surprised if it was over 10lbs. How can they tell? I'm off to the consultant on Tuesday to discuss inductions as my SPD is really bad. I am so fed up, hope baby Picky number 2 makes an appearance soon! This is it, no more after this!

Congratulations! Are you nervous or excited? ...or just fed up with your big bump lol?!

Bit of both I think! It's number 2 so I kinda know what's coming, which I think makes it worse! But I am fed up now and can't wait to meet our baby. I'm just a bit worried it's going to be huge!
It is probably best not knowing anything and then you don't really have time to worry! I'm sure you'll be fine though so try not to worry and make sure you post back when you can to let us all know how it went! Good luck! x
they have a rough idea sometimes, depands how much of baby they can feel.
with my first my midwife knew but didnt dare tell me as she said it wouldve caused me undue worry.
They do say that heavier babies are sometimes easier to birth as gravity helps lol
ooooh how exciting!! Hope it goes smoothly for you, and that little one isn't too big. Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
Take care. x
They get the size wrong quite a lot as well. They told me my baby had stopped growing at about 30 weeks and was going to be tiny. A teeny weeny 7lb 14oz arrived...!!!
ummmm, that is teeny weeny :)
I was HUUUGE and my daughter was only 6lb 8oz bless her.
Good luck, its such an exciting time!

Well, I've just munched my way through a nice hot curry and I'm sipping raspberry leaf tea (I do suspect that nothing works til baby is ready to arrive, but it's making me feel hopeful!). Baby Picky was 9lb 1oz, which I thought was big enough for a first baby, although my best friend had a 10lb 7oz for her first. She's pregnant again, due on the 3rd August and was told last week her baby was measuring full term!
I don't know what we're having, we decided not to find out, so it's all very exciting!

Good luck Picky, hope you have a quick and easy birth.

Me too Velvetee! How's is going with you? Ok I hope. Saw from the other thread that you've not decided a name yet, bless you. It's a really big decision isn't it? Mine's called Jack Peter, Jack after my Grandad and Peter was both mine and Mr Pickys Dad's name, so that made it easier, but I have no idea about this one (if it ever arrives that is!)

Glad you're keeping well x
