how much baby milk do you give with solids?
hello
just a bit of advice please, i know all babies are different and there are a million different answers to this question....
my baby is just 5 months old i started feeding her cow and gate baby rice and fruity porridge about 2 weeks ago
before this she had 4 bottles in 24 hours 8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm she has around 8-9oz a feed
i started by just changing her 12oclock feed by giving her baby rice and half her normal baby milk bottle, as the days go on she is having more baby rice and less milk at this feed so i introduced juice ( she has had juice a few times before) and taken away the bottle at this feed so at the moment she is having 3 bottles and 1 feed a day,
my question is.... will 2 bottles of milk 8-9 oz a day be enough for her if i take away the 4pm feed aswell, so she will have bottle when she wakes, dinner ( porridge) at 12 tea at 4 both with juice, then another bottle before bed???????
is that enough baby milk for 5 months????

At 6 months my little ones were on 3 x 7oz as well as 2 meals and by 9 months 2 x 8oz a day and 3 meals / 2 snacks.
If baby is getting milk via other means, like in food, cheese yogurt etc then that all counts.

Hi
when I started my baby on rice at 5 months I still gave her her bottle first and then her rice and progressed to other foods as time passes but, always milk first. She let me know when she didn't need a bottle anymore by refusing them, first she refused her lunch time bottle then her dinner time. She is 13 months now and loves her food but, still has 6 ounces(Cows milk now) at breakfast before her cereal and 6 ounces at bedtime. Again she'll get them till she "tells" me shes done with them. I remember feeling like a fish out of water at this stage but, have a good few friends who''ve had babies before me and their advice was always the same they'll et you know what they want. LOL

Hi I Know All babies are different ..But Here is a little bit of advice from a mother of 2 . You could try and take away the feed at 4pm it shouldn't be a problem ..its all pretty much trial and error and aslo it would depend on what your baby is happy with too. you can always try it and if your baby isn't happy you can always give it again..or ask your health visitor or health proffesional if you have any other doubts .
