feeling negative after doctor visit.

Hi,

I was due on last tues and felt pg so did a test which was pos. We have been trying for a baby. A def strong line. We were both delighted as I mc early oct, had one clear a period after and tried again. I couldn't believe my eyes and did two more tests, just to see the line really. Those of you that have had a miscarriage will understand.

I went to the doc on fr to confirm and she asked me if i'd not considered using contraception, said that i could carry on taking folic acid if i wanted to and then, worst of all, she said that i'd need blood tests to confirm i was actually pg and she wouldn't register me until then. She said that once the results were back i could decide if i wanted to continue the pregnancy!

WHAT THE??

I was so furious I just burst into tears. What planet is this woman on?

Now, because of her I'm panicking that I'm not actually pg at all and the blood tests will show low hcg like the last ones i had! (before af)

Also, oh yes theres more, she told me to ring first thing with the results. I did so only to find that they can't release reuslts till 2pm.

aaaaah! rant over.

I thought doctors were supposed to be supportive?

If there is more than one Dr at the practice, make sure you dont book with this one again. It sounds as if she simply was not listening to you!!

Hi. mc - miscarriage, pg - pregnant, sorry.
The results were hcg was 750 which, according to net, is totally normal for my stage.
I do think it's a case of not listening and I won't be going back to her at all. x

OMG Congrats!! I was in your situation kind of, I had 4 mc before I had my daughter and was under the care of a fertillity clinic before I was confirmed pregnant with my daughter at 5wks and 3 days exactly My hcg was 330 24hrs later it was 1013 so that makes u 5/6 week s which is right by your dates and your doctor is an ass! Sounds like she thought that u were pregnant by mistake which makes her an idiot for not listening to you. You are sooo pregnant GL hun, and enjoy itxxx

Just wanted to agree with you and others ablout what an idiot this doctor was and to say congratulations. I hgope you have a very happy and healthy pregnancy hun.
I am 38 weeks almost and cannot believe how it has flown, doesn't seem like 2 minutes since I did the positive test although mine was rather a shock!
