I leave my current job at the end of September (my choice). I have worked with them for just under 10 years. Whilst I plan to get another job to start when my current job ends, if I dont, can anyone advise what maternity pay I would be entitled to if I was out of work?
I know in employment I would get 90% pay for 6 weeks and the £124 SMP approx for x number of weeks but if I was between jobs would I just get SMP? or nothing? :(

I think if you started a new job you would get SMP unless you'd been there for 6th months or more? But if unemployed I'm not sure its same amount but you do get something.
I really would have got another job before leaving other one though no matter how hard it is there, its very difficult to get jobs at moment. Or couldnt you have stayed on just to get decent maternity pay, if you have been there 10 years it surely would be alot
if you are not entitled to smp (and it sounds as if you wont be) you get maternity allowance
