I'm 5 weeks pregnant today (and very excited). Me and my partner decided to start trying for our first baby in October and were fortunate enough to succeed first time. We had been expecting to have to try for about a year! I was just wondering how normal it is that I'm so bloated that I am struggling to fit into my normal work trousers already? My friends at work didn't need to change into maternity wear until 6 months in - I feel like a freak! Also twins run in my family and I wondered if this was a sign that I was carrying more than one baby too? Both of my nans were twins and my boyfriends nan was a twin too. And you know what they say about it skipping a generation!

At 5 weeks, even if you were carrying twins, would not be showing. It's probably water retention...
When I had my twins I remember feeling more pregnant than I should have (I had already had three children). I just thought I had got my dates wrong until my first scan when they told me it was twins. And twins don't necessarily skip a generation as I am a twin myself.

And to resolve water retention I have to drink more water right?

Five weeks ago today my last period started, would have been due on again 26 October.
I was like you VW and my pregnancy showed almost from the start much to my dismay. However, I was very slim then and throughout I pregnancy the only place I put on weight was on my tum. From the back I still looked thin right up until the end of the pregnancy, but boy from the front........................... !!

*blush* look at me making up his past! lol
Nurse in the military?......I could never aspire to that height.
Hospital porter..........head porter at that.......not your rubbish.

Now......it probably has nothing to do with water retention and even if it was, what would be the point of drinking MORE water to retain.

Rubbish.
You're not 5 weeks then. The day you miss your period you are counted as 4 weeks pregnant. So you are at least double that now...
Just laughing at Sqad being a nurse!! I think he used to chase them!!
