Did anyone see this tonight?

The final question was: "Which of these world records is the smallest in metres?"
a) Long Jump
b) Pole Vault

The contestants selected Long Jump and won. However, Nick Knowles then went on to say, yes pole vault was the smallest and displayed:

Pole Vault - 6 metres
Long Jump - 8 metres

Surely, this means the contestants got it wrong, as the question was which is the smallest, not the longest?

The envelope next to Pole Vault was number 5 and had £500 in it. Long Jump had the winning amount of £4,000 in it.

I watched it several times on Sky plus and cannot see how they got it correct.

They chose Pole Vault (£500) which was eliminated leaving the £4000 as their prize....I think. It's a rubbish programme, I only saw the last 10 mins :o)

Pole vault should have been worth £4,000 as it was the smaller distance.

In the second stage of the game the remaining envelopes are assigned to answers, but now the lowest sum of money is assigned to the correct answer and the contestants must identify and eliminate it. One envelope is discarded with each question until the final question becomes a 50/50 choice between two answers. The contestants win the sum of money inside the envelope they do not eliminate.
