Little one at our friends gos down no trouble, bath music dressed bed bit of a cry but thats it shes gone.
Here at home, no chance. I do the bath music n nights and leave the room just for her to scream the place down. I am on the point of putting her cot back together and putting her back in there, shes in an adult sized single at the mo, but thinking it might be too soon. She just dosnt seem to settle in there!
good idea to step back or not?

How old is she? Little ones like the security of a cot, they can feel the rails and see the sides, and it makes them feel safe.

If you think longer in the cot may work, then try it. Don't think of it as 'going backwards' - no-one is giving you points for the speed in which she moves to a bed, so don;t upset her, or yourself, get her settled in her cot, and then try the ed again in a while.

thanks andy, i have just moved all the pieces into her room and the first thing she did was to jump on the matress and curl up, so going to put her cot next to her bed so she can still see the bed and get used to it. shes 22 months by the way, but the out laws wanted the cot back luckily havnt got round to giving it back.
buy some of those guard rails for the side of the bed, if it makes her feel more secure.
sounds like it was too soon for her... especally as she seemed so pleased to see it being brought back... see if your in laws can let you keep it bit longer
I found that a ready bed on top of the normal bed worked to keep my son in bed and comforted.

The one I had was similar to this:

But obviously in a boy's design :)
Sounds like she is a little bit too young for her bed yet.

Children vary, but don't be pursuaded by pressure - family or outside, to make your little one take steps before she is ready - that just upsets everyone.

Remember - they all arrive in Reception able to walk, talk, use the loo, and sleep in a big bed - how soon they get there is not an issue.

after an hours battle it is resurrected! shes much happier in there and cuddled down straight away for a nap, but that is not happening seeing as she went to bed at midnight last night shes having no naps and going down at 6 tonight. we have guard rails on the big bed but it didnt help just meant she escaped easily! hoping tonight she goes in and stays down!
Adding to all the other advice, looking together at pictures of 'big girls' and their nice bedrooms (not being smutty here, honest) - it's amazing how even pre-proper talking, children are looking up to role models - so showing positive images and stories about your own bedroom might help things. Also, keeping the door open and a nightlight on the landing (you can get plug-in ones at Homebase).
Following on from Mosaic's mention of night-lights, my youngest had a 12-watt bulb in her bedside lamp which was clear enough for her to see around, but dim enough not to keep her awake.

mims has some angel fairy lights in her room, but may go back to just having her starry night light on for her. The problem is she likes our room to much and if she can will stay in our bed if given half the chance lol

shes woken up tonight but she had a dirty bum with rash so shes off back now shes had cuddles with daddy
Thing 1 is still on the sofa (but she's not well). Will take her into bed with us and just wit for thing 2 to come in too (hope they are not sick, changed our bed today!)
Many years ago, when I changed my little ones over to larger beds, I bought them each a hot water bottle stuffed toy (one was a bear the other a lion, which I still have after 40 years!) and told them a story about their new friend the big bed. Every night I made up a different little story to go with the bed and the toy. I also always had gentle music on in their rooms and a night light, so that the room wasn't completely dark. It worked a treat each time. Your little one is gorgeous and looks like such a character, firewatch! Hope she settles soon.

shes very much a charecter, sherrard she came in with us last night she got very cold (when shes teething her temp fluctuates) to get her warm and keep her warm (nothing medical wrong with her-shes just odd). She is such a wonderful bundle to have around and as we thought we would never ever have kids shes even more a blessing, im about to go change my avatar again for something else-watch this space!
Hi FW, it won't be forever. Personally I would just put up with h coming into bed with you, you have no idea how quick time will fly and she won't want to spend her time with you, x.
