Reserve and collect serve B&Q
13 Answers
So do they collect the items before hand because the guy picking mine reservation rang to say they didn't have the item. With Argos I often reserve things and then don't collect but if B&Q pick the stock for you beforehand I would feel bad not collecting. Is this what they really do?

Still the same system , at Argos the item may still be on the store room shelf, but it has a label on it to say it is reserved for pick up and the pick up no is on it and it has been removed from the stock list. If you do not collect it someone has to go and take the reserved label off and alter the stock list , can not see the diffrence.
At Argos, I think you will find they do 'virtual picking' of reserved items. That is they tag the stock record but any thought that a little man comes and puts a sticker on it is pure fantasy, Eddie.
B&Q is not principally a warehouse stock-release operation - it is a retail operation. This in turn means that customers are walking up to shelves every minute of the retail working day to buy stuff, so they can't afford not to 'reserve' an item for a customer by getting one of their staff to physically pick it and put to one side.
