Radio Casette player for older person
Suggestions please for a portable radio cassette player, easy to tune and with push button tuning.
I have an 85 year old relative whose poor eyesight means she can no longer read books. She listens to the radio and books on cassette but her player is >20 years old and is distorted.

They sell all sorts of products designed for people with poor sight. In particular they have some talking books packages that include you being sent the books. Sorry if this is a bit vague - we got one for my nan a while back though and she loved it.
you will need to shop around, here are a few features to look for
1) good sized keys. Philips do some portable cassette players with braille on the keys .AQ 6455 is one i use and is a pretty good unit. it has a variable speed control allowing you to tweak the playback by 10% faster or slower.
cue and review would be useful, allowing you to wind the tape at speed whilst hearing it (like pic search on a vcr)...another feature of the philips.
3) unclutterred key/controls layout. in fact, older radios with manual tuning would be far better here, as the tuning wheel was larger and usually placed separate from the rest of the controls. modern ones with presets could be fiddly.
4) perhaps consider equipment with similar design to the unit being replaced, if pssible.
