My Dad (aged 64) will soon be in the position where he lives on his own and someone mentioned he may be entitled to some sort of benefit/tax credit but I'm not so sure.

He receives a pension from the RAF (not sure how much) and works full time, earning around 18k I think. He lives in a private rented house and has no assests or savings.

Aside from single person council tax and winter fuel, is it likely he would be entitled to anything else?

I doubt it, unless he is disabled in some way, he may then be entitled to DLA.
At 64 he could get pension credit garantee but with a wage of £18,000 year and a pension he is not likedly to qualify, next year he will qualify for state pension.

That's what I thought - he earns/receives too much to be entitled to anything he doesn't already get.
I agree with Eddie, probably the only possibility would be pension credit guarantee but his income will probably be too high, when he reaches 65 he will be eligible for his state pension and possibly savings credit if his income is not over the saving credit threshold.
