Hi. If your in the UK then an assessment by your local social services would determine your eligibility for social care. Clearly if the aided dog assists with some aspect of your day to day life this would be reflected in any care plan. However your use of the term aided dog, is unfamiliar to to me in the UK as we tend to use Guide dog or assistant dog, so if your not in the UK all i can do is suggest you check with a local source of information.

Aided dogs are still relatively rare here in the UK, my friend's dog is being trained to be one (it's quite different to a guide dog) - it takes the washing out, opens doors, brings the phone to her, etc.

I wouldn't think you could have both dog and a human carer, except there are things the dog just can't do for you, like personal care.

Assistance Dogs are provided free of charge by charities so I can't see how this would impact on the provision of a carer for someone who needed one.

From a website about Assistance Dogs: "When I get up in the morning, Bonny releases a rope ladder that has to be pulled away from my bed at night for safety. This allows me to pull myself out of bed. I usually have to get my carer to do this and then she stands beside my chair to stop it from moving when I transfer. Bonny does this for me now, by standing firm against my chair so I can get up like a normal person when I want to and not have to wait for my carer to help me. This saves time in the morning for my carer to organise breakfast without interruptions."
