We had one in the family that brought hilarity.
My grandfather loved sea-fishing but was pretty lousy at it, no he was awful. Hardly ever caught a thing, much to considerable mirth.
One time he did land one, a good-sized Pollock, off Smeaton's Pier in St Ives (and not the time he snared a motorboat and it was only the quick action of the old man cutting his line that prevented him being pulled off the wall).
He decided to send the proof of the pudding through the Royal Mail - trouble was we were in the NW of the UK and he was in Cornwall - and it was August and a hot one too.
This half-reeking fish came through - the old man sent it straight back, address unknown.....
