I am getting close to committing a crime here. Mr BM's aunt died last week. His ex has been kept informed. The funeral is Thursday at 1000 in Scotland. We have to go from here (Cambridgeshire) to Cardiff (to pick up Mr BM's disabled sister) and then to Scotland. To be completely reasonable we really need to leave here tomorrow night.

His ex has just texted to say that she is "out of the area" on Wed night (normal contact night), therefore we HAVE to continue with contact and that her son is in tears because he doesn't understand what he has done wrong - this is despite the fact that we have discussed at length with my step son the fact that we CAN'T do contact on Wed and explained the reasons why. We were both happy that he understood.

So what do we do? Do we a) not attend the funeral (of a dearly loved relative) b) we attend and say "flump her" (not really an option, given no 1 step son) c) I go round there and smack the silly bitch senseless or d) Mr BM drives to Cardiff and then to Scotland on his own and in the meantime, I have contact with his son and then catch a train to Scotland (thereby missing the funeral but just making it for the end of the wake) or e) something else.

I am so angry.......

Sorry, I really am fekkin mad.

Trouble is, if we just go to the funeral, she wont pick her son up and then we will end up in COurt "he failed to pick up his son on such and such and therefore contact shoudl be suspended".

the alternative is i make an emergency application tomorrow to the COurt for extended contact to take him out of school and he comes with us.......
Tell the ex that you will collect step son a day early and take him with you? A couple of days out of scchool for a family funreal won't hurt anyone too much.

It may call her bluff if she is just being deliberately awkward?
You are not her childminders and she needs to provide her own childcare. She knew you were going and she's being incredibly unreasonable.
As for the sob story about your stepson, I doubt he's even mentioned it.
oops shocking typo - 'funeral' - sorry

Aynhoe - if your concentration span is so limited, don't fekking bother replying. CB is not for the hard of thinking.

Dave - I knew what you meant *Chortlesplutters*
Simple answer is that you don't go, BM. At all, possibly.
Id apply to the courts BM xx

No Ellipsis, Mr BM WILL go to this funeral. He is cut to bits and he wants to say good bye.

I suppose ultimately I am just ranting, cos his ex is being unpleasant. You know if it were her in this position, I would be absolutely sure to help in any way I could. Perhaps I just need to understand that she doesn't give a broccoli as long as she is hurting him.
Question Author
Tinks, that is an option. I can get an emergency application before a judge by 12pm tomorrow.........
That would very effectively call her bluff BM ..
Question Author
It would also cost me two hundred fekkin quid, Dave! Thus I would prefer not to. I can think of other ways of spending two hundred quid and Mr Bm's ex being a broccoli isn't in my list of "things I must spend money on". Cowbag.
Jst seems she can turn nasty...

Keep yourselves covered and try to apply to the courts- that way you have done all you can i suppose....shut her up!

Poor you and mr BM just NOT what you need xx
Question Author
botox, I might as well just do it and sod my kindle......
Yikes - that is a lot of £££

Cowbag indeed :+(
Question Author
lol Tinks - she is permanently nasty - its just that her nastiness goes to different levels from the rest of us........
