It's not until next July.

She doesn't like travelling (has a real fear of cars) and is not adventurous with food.

She's been an absolute rock to my family (my Uncles wife) she's looked after my nan and granddad more or less from the day she met my uncle.

We want to do something special for her. Any ideas beside a spa weekend?

Champagne afternoon tea at Claridges? She could go on the train (no cars involved)
where does she live, ummm (if it[s not to be too far away from her)?
One of my favourite 60th birthday presents was beautifully decorated 'hamper' put together by my best friend. She collected all sorts of items from my other friends and presented it to me on the day. It contained my favourite perfume, moisturiser, mascara, foundation, shower gel, and talcum powder. It also contained a book token, a Debenhams token, a garden centre token and a scented candle.

I loved it.

That sounds nice, Tilly.

Boxy...she lives a 10 minute walk from me. She has 4 children and 3 grand children. Her eldest are 32 and 30. The youngest are 16 and 15.

I want to get her a new kitchen, something she's wanted for the last 20 years, but it needs structural work so it's not that simple.
For my Dads 60th I made a sort of This is Your Life folder. Mostly containing photos of him and the kids/grandkids growing up. It took some getting getting it all together but it made him cry. (and it was well cheap, lol). Maybe something along those lines?

It's a great idea, Evian, if she wasn't the person that has all the photos to start with.

She's super duper organised. She came round a few months back with posters she'd got made of my Dad because she'd come across some old photos. That's how lovely she is ...

(my Mum and Dad split up when I was 8)
Wow, she sounds like a lovely lady. Can see why you want to make it special for her.
What about a fun ( not all sitting with fake smiles) family photo done professionally - maybe black and white, all in t-shirts and jeans.. not just you and your family but her children and grandchildren too.
