Hmmmmmm, history and english. National trust/english heritage membership? A piece of silver by a female silversmith (I would suggest someone like Dorothy Langlands or hester Bateman).

A piece of silver by a female silversmith (I would suggest someone like Dorothy Langlands or hester Bateman).
Psybbo, she's fortunate she hasn't spent much time with me. I'd have taught her the vices of lotus eating and procrastination.
Barmaid, that's a good idea. A piece of silver as a lasting momento and a few quid too, to celebrate with.
If she likes wine, a membership of the Wine Society - don't think you need a nomination now, but if so, we can arrange offline. Plus some nice champagne or red wine....
Otherwise the silver is a nice idea or something custom made, like a tree root gripping some pyrites.
A bit of Hester Bateman silver looks just the thing. Her dates, 1708-1794, cover a period that couldn't be anything less than interesting to a historian. And the fact that she ran a successful business at a time when the glass ceiling for a woman would have been considerably lower than it is now, is another plus.
