It does depend where you are. But UPS are a just one of the many national courier services. They will collect and deliver door to door, but the are many, many more. Google courier followed by your nearest town and you'll see the full range.
I'm tempted to simply write "Wear clothes. Catch train to Yorkshire" - but I suspect that you'd prefer a more serious answer.

I note that your question doesn't say 'cheapest'. If cost isn't a major issue then Royal Mail's Special Delivery service (available at any post office) is probably best. Packages are handled separately to the general mail, tracked and signed for. The price of sending a parcel weighing up to 2kg is £11.00 but it then shoots up to £25.80 for a parcel weighing up to 10kg. (So, where possible, it best to split a package weighing between 2kg and 4kg into two packages of less than 2kg each).

Those prices are for guaranteed delivery by 1pm on the (working) day after posting. If the package is really urgent there's a premium service that guarantees delivery by 9am. It costs £26.16 but it's only available for packages up to 2kg. However Parcelforce Worldwide also offers express delivery services. For example, a 3kg package costs £40.92 for delivery by 9am on the next working day, £30.92 if it can wait an hour longer until 10am or £20.92 for delivery by noon.

Once you've weighed your parcel (or, at least, estimated its weight) you can find prices for all available services (from both Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide) here:
http://www.royalmail.com/price-finder
(Note that some prices need to have VAT added onto them. Multiply the price shown by 1.2).

The reason I say motorbike courier is that (depending on the distance, of course) they'll whizz up the motorway and deliver the same day. It'll cost you, but it'll get there.
I have to agree with Boxtops that (unless we get into the realms of fantasy and start talking about helicopters or jump jets) a motorcycle courier would be quickest but, because you've not indicated distance or budget, it's hard to say whether such a method would actually be appropriate.

it's from Portsmouth. long story but it's for a funeral and I'm flying up so am restricted luggage wise. Mr Mayo needs his suit sent as he is already up there !
And when is the wedding?
Sorry, funeral?
Nearly any courier service will be more reliable and more affordable than Royal Mail since their rates were increased earlier this year.
Might be cheaper just to buy a new suit......
pigeons, they all come from yorkshire. pigeon post, or, on a more serious note, a carrier on the web, parcels to go. you drop it off at a shop, they collect and deliver a couple of days later. carriers are: my hermes or yodel and even UPS are doing this collect thing now, will cost about six quid. so much cheaper than the post office.

thanks all
I don't mean to sound flippant, but could you pack the trousers as hand luggage and wear the jacket on the plane since its for such a short distance . Don't worry what you'd look like, no-one will pay any attention. Once you're aboard you can take it off.
Sorry, Didn't see it was urgent. same answer, "parcel to go" for next day delivery.
Is it not possible to pay for extra baggage, it would ensure it got there.
If you're flying with Flybe from Southampton to Leeds/Bradford (using the cheapest 'Essentials' ticket) adding a bag placed in the hold (up to 15kg) will add £13.99 to your (one-way) ticket price. That might be simpler (and cheaper) than any other method.
