My daughter has just booked a holiday in January for the 2 of us. A friend is now showing interest in coming, along with her boyfriend. This boyfriend wasn't interested in accompanying my friend in coming on holiday with my daughter and I last year, because he "didn't think it would be much fun" and prefers to go on holildays with a crowd of friends. We really don't want this man on holiday with us! What can I say to my friend? On the last occasion the 'will he/won't he come' went on for a fortnight or so with my friend 'trying to persuade him' and not being able to see how annoying this was to us! I would like my friend to come but not with him and she won't be able to afford to come on her own. Tks in advance for words of wisdom.
If she can't afford to come on her own then you'll eiher have to put up with him if you want her there that much or tell her you've decided to do just a mother and daughter thing. Failing that say it's a girls holiday. Doesn't seem like it has to be a major problem to me.
The others are right. The holiday is a mother/daughter event - she'll surely understand. I can't see a lone bloke enjoying it much, even if he's paying fo rthe two of them. Just be honest - if she's a real friend she'll understand - it's either ladies only, or nothing. Have you asked your daughter about all this? She's booked the holiday, after all!
just tell her to face it - he doesn't want to come - if she has to try to talk him into it then whats the point? he will only be coming under duress, so best if he just doesnt
tell her you would like it to just be a girls holiday
