A different post about 'Big Star, Little Star' got me thinking. Are we currently in the midst of the most banal era of television ever? Reality overload, where most of the so-called celebrities move from one show to another, X-Factor, Britain's Got Talent, I Love My Country (?????), Gypsy Weddings/Christenings etc. Has the gene pool slipped so low and is this this what people do actually want to watch?

My husband and I had this conversation just last night. Unfortunately many people must want to watch it or these programmes would not get financed.

I don't know anyone who watches/likes the rubbish put on TV nowadays. Perhaps people have better taste than the Tristrams give them credit for.
