Arghhh - really cross! Two of the pairs of school shoes have worn through on the heels already. They've only been worn for 37 days and they weren't cheap either. One pair has to be sent back to the shop for testing and the other has to be taken back to the shop they were bought from. I initially contacted the manufacturer and the woman I spoke to couldn't care less. Feel a stroppy email coming on.
They are both Kickers - one pair from TKMaxx (back to shop tomorrow for 'inspection') the other are from Sports Direct (back to them via free post to be tested and inspected). They are both boys shoes but the girl's pair I have also got have lovely, solid heels that have not worn at all.
Both of my daughters buying for their school age children would agree with you, they almost know from the start that each pair they buy will end up going back, receipts and boxes are always ready in case.
One of them had Kickers last year and they were excellent (hence they all had either Kickers or Hush Puppies this year). In the past they have had cheap shoes which only lasted till half-term, but these weren't cheap. The uppers are leather but they seem to have scrimped on the soles of the shoes. I haven't got the receipts or boxes but I will get it sorted out - I've spent nearly £200 on schools shoes alone (if I can complain about soggy sandwiches and Creme egg chocolates with no Creme egg filling then I can certainly complain about pricey shoes).
Quick update - one pair of shoes in the post. Got a gift voucher from TKMaxx for the price of the other shoes (I didn't have a receipt so had to stand my ground). Next step, arsey email to Kickers themselves.
Ha ha! Success, got a refund for the second pair of shoes too. Now to write an email to Kickers about their crappy customer service and disappointingly crap shoes (although the girls' ones are fabulous).
