Hi guys, it's my daughters 5th birthday in a few weeks, it will be a school day but was trying to think of some cheap things we can do at home to make her feel special on her special day. Any suggestions? Tia

I always decorate the living room the night before my daughters birthday. I put pink banners up and blow up LOADS of balloons and put them everywhere. decorate the outside of your house with balloons .Hide a couple of pressies and give her easy clues to find them .hope. she has a lovely day x
If she's having friends round, organise a treasure hunt in the house, 10p pieces hidden here and there, the greedy little beggars will love it, and make sure she finds the 'gold' piece (£1 coin). Happy Birthday :-)
If it is allowed, maybe get her to take a big box of sweets to be shared around everyone in the class.

Then everyone in the class will be aware it is her birthday.
If she is having friends round, have a baking party - make cupcakes and decorate them. Then they can eat them.
You could decorate with things like balloons and banners, you can get some lovely "Birthday Princess" ones quite cheap. I think a cake with candles and singing is lovely, maybe surprise her in bed with it for when she wakes up.

If having friends over you could always make a homemade piñata, I made on last year and the kids loved it. I only brought cheap ASDA smartprice food for tea and they ate it all up without complaint too. Hope she has a great day. Good luck!
