Hi guys, it's my daughters 5th birthday in a few weeks, it will be a school day but was trying to think of some cheap things we can do at home to make her feel special on her special day. Any suggestions? Tia

If she's having friends round, organise a treasure hunt in the house, 10p pieces hidden here and there, the greedy little beggars will love it, and make sure she finds the 'gold' piece (£1 coin). Happy Birthday :-)
You could decorate with things like balloons and banners, you can get some lovely "Birthday Princess" ones quite cheap. I think a cake with candles and singing is lovely, maybe surprise her in bed with it for when she wakes up.

It's doesn't cost much, you can probably get most of that for a fiver. I always bake a cake as well and I splash out on some more interesting candles like sparkler type ones. If having friends over you could always make a homemade piñata, I made on last year and the kids loved it. I only brought cheap ASDA smartprice food for tea and they ate it all up without complaint too. Hope she has a great day. Good luck!
