When a clue has a full stop at the end of it, is there any meaning to this? I'm stuck on my last few questions on a quiz and some have them at the end and some don't. I can't give you any of the clues as it wouldn't be in the spirit of the competition, plus, I don't want to upset Mamya :)

Thanks for any replies. :)

Oi!! What have I done....lol

A single full stop is unlikely to mean anything and the lack of one is likely an oversight.

Multiples (........) can have meaning , which varies.

I don't think that a full stop would have any significance.

Mam, I trying to finish Richards Winter Quiz, I've got 10 left and I want to cry but I won't ask for help on here :)

Right so, I'll ignore the full stops and carry on crying.

Many thanks to you both :)

By hook or by crook Mamy. It's actually been sitting here doing nothing for 3 weeks because I forgot about it, OH found it on the TV shelf earlier.

I'll go check ;)
Question marks usually indicate an extra level of cryptic or, in general crosswords, that an otherwise straight clue is cryptic. E.g.

Overnight case (6) - VALISE
Overnight case, we hear? (6) - ARMOUR
