Is Saltdean A Family Friendly Place To Live?
2 Answers
Hello,
We live in Hampshire (Aldershot) and have a dream of moving down south as we now have a 3 year old child and would like to provide a seaside sort of lifestyle to our boy.
We both work in IT / Media and were wondering if Brighton & Hove has many work opportunities. More importantly, is Saltdean a family friendly place to live?
Does it have a community feel? How would you describe an average resident?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

Although with Aldershot money and IT/Media salaries you'll probably be ok. I'm sure there are families in Saltdean, but my overall impression is that a lot of residents are older people who've owned their properties for ages. It's very overpriced in my humble opinion. Only across the hill in Telscombe you get a lot more for your money and better views.
One last word of advice, B&H salaries tend to be low.
Good luck with your move, whatever you decide to do.

Saltdean is well locate and not just full of old people as earlier answer. Telscombe may be cheaper but is closer to Peacehaven. Saltdean is close to Brighton and all that city has to offer. Although only a few miles away from the city centre the morning commute is grim! Good bus links and expensive parking makes using a car a no no!
