I think that it is shocking that this poor girl's parent are denying her what she wants. This is the worst kind of child abuse. She should get on to Childline pronto.

aren't you a lucky girl. When you're in your nice warm bed tonight think of all the children who didn't have dinner.
So somewhere west of EST then.
Lol, it doesn't seem like yesterday my parents would say something like I did. It didn't impress me much. ;-)
All are helping in that they are saying you can't always get what you want in life.

If your parents do not wish to take the risk of you falling out then that is their decision, it is their responsibility and so their decision. You must learn to accept the 'knocks' life gives you "in your stride", and accept there are times we want something but can not have it. That will be true all of your life.

Perhaps they will let you have one when you have lived as long as your elder sister, providing there is room.
When I was 7, I wanted a T-Rex for Christmas. It didn't happen. I got over it.

At some point in the future your parents probably will let you have one, but if you whine and moan at them that could delay the change of heart.

How old is your sister? Maybe when you reach her age, they will decide you can have one too.

Patience is a difficult thing to learn when you're 11 -but until you are earning your own money to buy things, you will have to wait.
Why not sleep on it?
So I guess you're in the US, aurora - we're in the UK so it WAS midnight here.
Sorry, but why would anyone WANT to sleep in the roof?
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to sleep six feet off the ground anyway - I have enough trouble getting up to go to the loo in the night as it is, without having a ladder to negotiate!
but boxy.................you are not 11 years old.
Yeah, you don't have to get out of bed at that age ;-)
Loft beds are space saving. My daughter had one that incorporated a wardrobe, drawers and a desk.
Wash cars, clear garbage, mow grass, clean windows, wash clothes, cook dinner, shop, hoover house, walk dog.....earn your needs.
