I cant believe this while David Cameron is doing everything to appease Euro Sceptics Nick Clegg comes out with this nonesense it really is time for him to go :_

It is not nonsense, it is a very good idea. I said so on this forum about a year ago.
An English person going to live in German gets their child benefit from German government and so on, so if that is the case we cant stop it totally (without getting out the EU).
But at least it should be paid at the local rate as it is far cheaper to live in Poland or Latvia than the UK so pay it at the local rate.
However I would prefer getting out the EU, but at least this rule change would be a start.

In fact here is me saying the same thing as Clegg in 2008 (I was called vehelpfulguy then). See my reply at 22:15 Sun 01st Jun 2008.
