Wedding Pics On Fb
54 Answers
I think lots know now that I've recently got married and am currently on honeymoon. I would like your opinions on this - we haven't had the official wedding photos yet obviously as we are still abroad however my SIL who came out for the wedding has posted wedding pictures she took on Facebook. I'm a bit miffed and feel she should have asked first. I have absolutely no intention of saying anything but don't you think this is a bit off? maybe I'm wrong?

Only that it tells anyone who looks on Facebook that their house is empty while they are on honeymoon, good news for burglars.
And the house many be full of valuable wedding presents so is a prime house to be burgled.
You should NEVER post photos of yourself (or anyone else) who is on holiday as it indicates the house is empty.

EDDIE51: It's probably best they didn't call 999, if they did have the brain to think of doing that I don't think I'd want to trust them to relay the correct detailed information - location, severity and once again the location which you always repeat at the end of the phone call.
Everyone knows that in a situation like that you always call them - they'd much rather have to repeat to loads of random people "Someone has already reported that sir/madam" than attend a scene late and lose a life. Not only that, it's a way of gathering witnesses (call tracing) if they leave the scene after making the call.

Carakeel and myself often post pictures on FB but we always ask each other before posting!
Nothing wrong with FB, it just needs respect from yourself and your friends.
it isn't the site that is the problem, its the problem of who you have on your friends list. I have used FB since its launch, I have never had a single issue or problem with it.

jno jnr and bride are honeymooning, and both have sworn off FB and Twitter while away, for precisely the reason VHG mentions: it's not a good idea to tell the world your house is empty.
I used to know a newspaper columnist who always wrote extra columns in advance to have published while he was away on holidays, because he didn't want the paper to aplogise for his absence by saying "McGillicuddy is away for three weeks". Same reason.
