Valuation Of Brass Ornaments
6 Answers
Hello all.
I have recently inherited a large number of brass (and some Copper I think) ornaments. I really have no interest in them and was looking at getting them valued with a view to selling them to someone who will appreciate them. I live in Manchester and wondered if anybody knew of someone who would be able to come and value them for me?
Thanks

The valuer will charge a percentage of the sum assessed as the total value. If you want an approximate idea of what they'd fetch at auction, an auctioneer will give you an estimate, and will tell you if things like that normally sell well or poorly at auction. Having them auctioned costs a bit, though, in fees to the auction house and insurance, etc. Unless your telephone call to the auction house gets an auctioneer really excited, you are unlikely to persuade him/her to visit you. They have loading areas, so ask them to give you a date when you can take your car.
