12 Answers
Hi everyone, my older female friend has invited myself and my young daughter to stay in her Spanish apartment for a wk in Spain, really looking forward to a relaxing holiday and excited for my daughter who has not been abroad, I'm really looking forward to My daughter and I spending quality time together. When I first told my sister she asked if her and her child come and I said no because I have been invited by my friend and my friend doesnt even know her, anyhow my sister has now asked if she pays for my nephew will I take him with me. Am I being selfish because I don't want to take him? I'm really annoyed that my sister has made me feel bad about this.

I know how you feel, sisters can be so overwhelming sometimes and have a tendency to make you feel bad. We love them dearly, but we also have a life without them. In your case put your child first and if she wants her child to have a holiday, then that's her responsibility to book one without you.
My sister asked me to take her daughter on my family holiday, but i said no. Reason being, this was my first holiday with my children, and i wanted to spend quality time with them, without anyone else around. I don't see that as being selfish. Selfish is parents wanting to dump their kids on others! enjoy your holiday hon xx
