ie let him out early.

Just how does her mind work that out? The public - ie the young are surely safest with him bend bars.

I reckon she has lost her marbles.

Had he stuck to just having images that he was not involved in taking I might, just about, have agreed with her. Possibly. But with offences including sexual assault and use of "spy pens"... no. Not impressed.

He's still got 16 years. So the young will be safe from him for about 8 years.
I can't see how restructuring/reducing the sentence is a better way to punish the appellant or protect children.

If you examine the restructuring of the sentence he could actually be in prison for longer. Someone serving 22 years can be considered for release after 11 years. The restructuring means that he can't be released until he's served at least 12 years.

If I'm honest, Jno, I'm not really sure!

People sentenced to more than 4 years in prison can normally apply for release at the half way stage. However, unlike sentences of less than 4 years, it's not automatic. If they don't get released they can keep reapplying (annually, I think) up until they've served two thirds of their sentence, when release does then become automatic.

However the courts have powers to amend the way that sentencing works in certain cases (which, as I've indicated, I don't fully understand). It seems, from the BBC report about the case, that such powers have been used in the 'restructuring' of the sentence, which also means that the offender will remain on licence (after being released from prison) for 6 years longer than he otherwise would have been:

Naomi it appears the Female judge was the spokesperson. Two males alos involved:

Whichever sex they are, still seems ludicrous to me.

This has nothing to do with the sex of the Judge. There were three Judges and only one was a woman, so I think we can dispense with that red herring.

As I understand it, Bradbury could actually spend longer behind bars with the new sentence. Anyway, when he is released, he will still be on licence and it will be very difficult for him to work with children again.

But at least he was caught and put behind bars. I am much more concerned about all the paedophiles that have not been even charged, especially the rich and famous ones that have evaded arrest due to their connections with the "establishment"

we werent in court nor had the advantage of reading the notes of the original case

The average inside for murder is 11 y
and there are certain non-capital offences that routinely earn more ( drug smuggling ) and you know I dont think smuggling drugs is worse than murder. I put sex offences in the same category
