Family History
For the past 10-15 years I have been researching my family history and have been very happy with the programme used to store the data "Family History Maker" which is purchased from Ancestry .co. I have recently learnt that Ancestry will no longer be issuing that programme and wondered if there is anyone who could recommend a replacement one. Many thanks in advance

In short, no one single program has come out top and although the GED format is supposed to be transportable, some programs deal with it in different ways, according to the contributors.
The advice seems to be to download everything you might have stored on Ancestry before FTM is no longer supported. I would have thought your version of FTM should work independently, you just won't be able to transfer data as you can now.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
