Is Skimming The Ceiling Messi ?

I have dimpled ceilings which I would like to have skimmed smooth.
Does anybody know how messy this job is ? Do I need to cover the furniture ?

yes of course :) it will be quite dusty but not a disaster. The plasterer may want to go over the ceiling first and take the tops off the bumps which is dusty. Clear out what you can and cover the rest. I had my kitchen done, it wan’t too bad.

When I had a plasterer skim my ceiling he put sheets everywhere so if the professionals do so I'd not advise you try without.
