I Like My Brother's Friend?!

I'm a freshy, his friend is a junior and my bro is in college. I have the same lunch as him and yesterday at lunch he sat at the table next to mine directly across from me. He's supposed to bw "watching me " for my brother since it's my first year- but I feel like he likes me kind of. He came to the trash can near my table(when I'm pretty sure there was one at his) and said "stay out of trouble or I'm telling your brother" but in a joking way. I told him "mind your buisness- not in a rude way but joking as well, then he walked off laughing. But it was a cute laugh- to make me feel like I said something funny. That's where things changed. When he sat down i began to look at him- then all of a sudden he looked up and did like binnoculars to his eyes. After that when I looked at him again...he was already looking at me. We had eye contact for a split second then immediately looked away. The other few times I pretended to be skimming the room and we looked at eachotherr again then immedietly looked away. But today it was like he didn't see me. In the hall I saw him, but he ignored me and kept looking straight- Even though I know he saw me. So...does he like me? Why did he ignore me? Thank you.

Whilst you can't be sure, it's most likely he is simply keeping an eye on you. Which would explain why he pretended (if it was really pretence) not to see you, to avoid giving you the wrong impression. No reason you can't have a friendly relationship though. Say, "Hi", "Good morning", etc..

You sound very young. You are a dreamer and dreaming is wonderful fun but don't let it get painful by imagining the dreams are real.
Don't read too much into his glances in your direction. If he is interested in you in a romantic way he will let you know for sure and you will not have to guess. If he doesn't let you know, and only looks at you occasionally, as you describe, well that is what acquaintances do.
If everyone we look at thought we were in love with them, the world would be very confusing. Looks mean nothing.
