Rhyming Repeating Poems And/or Songs
26 Answers
I am looking for suggestions of songs or poems that have repeating lines. Examples are “There was an old woman who swallowed a fly” and “The 12 days of Christmas”.
It is for my mother who has alzheimers but has always loved poems, literature and music. Even though the dementia is at a very late stage she is still able to respond to poems if they are funny and rhyming. A recent one that she loves is “The Bloody Orkneys”.
She responds well to nursery rhymes because they are short, rhyming and often silly. All the better if they are older and she might remember them from years ago.
All suggestions will be gratefully received.
