Gift Ideas For 8-9 Year Old Boy
60 Answers
My grandson is 8 3/4 yrs old. Hes got most things, so he's asked for clothes or money this Xmas. His parents and other family members have got him clothes, so he has plenty. We are determined not to give money, not at that age anyway. Any ideas out there? Spending about &50, tops.

I'd suggest a subscription to this brilliant children's magazine:

When our grandkids appreciated a cheque, Patsy we did it in a fun way.....
One year I put the cheque inside a bar of soap.....the cleanest child got there first.....another year inside a plaster model of one of the seven dwarves.....the softest granddaughter wouldn't smash hers to get to the cheque.....another year they got an envelope with clues so they had to do a treasure hunt around the house to find the cheque....
The year after MrG died I put a photo of him in a frame....yes it was the worst passport photo ever.....told them I wanted them to have something to remember Grandad by.....took them all a while to think to open the frame to find the cheque...
You're not a control freak....I know how nice it is to see a present being opened.... I just made a bit of fun out of giving the money and they still talk about the daft ideas I came up with.... :-)
