Sponsoring Children Abroad
4 Answers
I would like to sponsor a child abroad - not through one of the charities where you pay X amount a month but something more personal. Firstly, I would like to know which country is the most likely to gain from this, ie. which is the most poverty stricken. I also would like some ideas of how to find a child that needs sponsoring - ie. one that I can write to regularly, send out pens, notebooks etc to them to help with their schooling - any ideas? Maybe some of you have already visited schools and know of children in need of some support like this - please let me know.

I write to her and she writes back to me and all the stuff I send, I see her wearing it, or playing with it in photos. There are only 16 kids there but its a great direct and very small charity.

Hi Lucy - an update for you...I have spoken to Linda and she is forwarding me the details of 2 females that are looking for sponsors. One is just over 20 and the other is 14 years old, both at the home. I am going to try and keep in contact with both....any idea of what sort of things I can send them - small gifts that are easy to post!! Linda was really happy to have someone contact her about this, thank you for putting me in touch with them xx
