Without them wearing the traditional pink or blue or having any specific gender items (nor of course looking at their bits) how old does a baby start looking like a boy or a girl?

Would you be confident looking at a newborns face and saying what sex it is?

These days I wouldn't be confident looking at an adult's face and saying what sex they were.
It varies from baby to baby, so there is no simple answer.
Ask what the baby's name is and then have a guess.
My granddaughter looks boyish still at 11 months. It's only cause she has a dress on....................
Leon, your questions are rather puerile, and you might consider growing up a bit before you continue being silly. I may be wrong, but I think you are just trying to have a bit of fun at the oldies' expense.
for most practical purposes they're non-binary till puberty. Better just call them "it".
Are you suggesting that Leon is a young wag Atheist?

My reply mirrors Hopkirk's - it varies from infant to infant.
Mamy, I made the mistake of not taking the question at face value. I only started doing this after I came to AB. Mea culpa.
Can get you like that :-)
you get more of a confident answer by looking at the other end, innit

I am old fashioned I am
Check its chromosomes.
I don't know. I think my 3 looked like their gender straight away.
a quick look under the pamper/nappy should determine this, Leon.
People make fun of Leon's question...but if you think back to your own little ones as baby's, was it at 4 months...6 months...a year? When did the unidentifiable baby really look like a little boy or girl.
Thinking back, I'd say going by appearance only,my daughter could have been either at least until she was 6 months.
seriously, I would say 3 month on my two gals, Pasta....it's more the eyes and face.
// Check its chromosomes. //

nope, that’s no indication these days.
Check its chromosomes

yes, take off its genes.
I think you will find that the better looking ones are usually girls. :-)
People used to look at my little one and say, "Isn't she pretty." I used to reply, "It's a HE."

I think it was his long eyelashes and rosebud lips that confused people.

My son had the most gorgeous blonde curls when he was about 18 months and then someone commented on my daughter's beautiful hair...... He was wearing trousers and a shirt at the time, nowadays that wouldn't mean anything.
