Odd one. The court said it is fine for Cornerstone to restrict its recruitment of carers to followers of the evangelical Christian faith but cannot discriminate against gays. Would gay people be part of the evangelical Christian faith which, on the whole, welcomes gays as long as they abstain from sex?

People who communicate with an invisible friend on a regular basis are seen as fit and proper carers while those with a sense of style or a thing for stout shoes are not.

Yes, because failure to do so puts them at odds with the law.

If they are unable to reconcile their beliefs with conforming to legal requirements, maybe they need to explore other avenues of income.

Definitely. Religious beliefs, or any beliefs, shouldn't come above the law.
