Do you ever put your head in your hands and despair?

A female volunteer turned up to collect food from a food bank container. She was assaulted by three men, hit in the face and knocked to the ground.
Why?
So the men could steal the food from the food bank container.

So very sad, isn't it.... :-(

Yes.
That is disgraceful.
Makes you want to weep in frustration.
where did this awful act happen?

Northants, dtc.
Yes awful. Just added to the despair I felt about the anti-vaxers at the Milton Keynes testing centre.
You got a link please Gness?
Not with the violence, but in Stoke we've had plenty of stealing from collection points in supermarkets.

Will see if Dave can find one to post.
Thank you :-)

Welcome. Lowlife aren't they. Three men against one woman to steal food for those who are struggling....time for the Irish Widow's Curse I think.
Small wonder that I much prefer animals.
Me too David. But there are more good humans than bad ones. The good ones just don't media publicity.
In Stoke, I pick up from one supermarket collection point (an Aldi) once a week and a few weeks ago the container went from been overflowing to just a few items.
I collared the security guard and asked him about it.
Apperantly someone else had blatently been going in and saying that they are from the foodbank and taking the food, no question asked.
Since this incident, the security guard has ascertained (via security cameras) what time the thief has been collecting our food.
(its the day before our scheduled collection)
Said guard has been going into work an hour earlier and monitering security cameras at about the same time that the thief had been collecting.

No more thefts since.
So, 2 questions...

1) Is someone in the store tipping him off?
2) Why the hell do Aldi, of all places, have a security guard?
Shakes head in disgust.
Absolutely disgusting. Hope they find the culprits and throw away the key.

Maybe they've had a spate of shoplifting incidents?
I hope they track down these despicable thugs.
Unfortunately, ML, we all know that the stealing of food from food-banks will be on the bottom of the local Bobby's to-do list.

In fairness, this is primarily an assault. The theft is the least important act considering a volunteer was beaten up.
Mozz71, my post was regarding the general stealing of food as described by nailit in a previous post. Obviously, I agree that committing assault whilst stealing is much more egregious and should be investigated.
