One day I was leaving work and I bumped into a coworker on another team. She asked what my name was because she’s seen me around the building and she saw me on our company directory. So we introduced ourselves and then walked away. Afterwards I was wondering why she was asking my name if she had already seen me on the directory. I also added her on LinkedIn and the next day she messaged me on Teams. She asked me if I added her after she awkwardly confronted me in the staircase. We’ve messaged a couple of times back and forth and whenever we see each other in the hallway we make little comments to one another. Am I over thinking this or is she flirting with me?

You're seriously overthinking it.
Or flirtation, possibly.
Who knows?
The staircase confirms flirtation, it's a rule.
Could be either, could be both. Flirting is about creating good feelings, it need not be a prelude to anything more. You decide how to react.
Men are experts at seeing signals that are not there, because they'd like them to be.

If this woman is romantically inclined, she'll let you know.

Anything else is just being friendly.
Do you want her to be flirting with you?
She could have just thinking of been a friend with you for messaging. Being coworkers together would definitely desire attention. If she had asked for more of your information outside of both of your guys' job.

You should back off and stop reading more into the situation than is actually there.
If you react in the wrong way, you could find yourself in bother.
Better to keep your distance.
