We're having homemade fishcakes, pea purée, samphire (if he can get some), poached egg and hollandaise. Maybe a side order of fat chips for that Gastropub effect.

where do you get your pork, sharon....we have a wonderful producer down here who sells through the Cornish Food Store, connecting to Waitrose - superb thick pork chops from Perranwell, halfway between Truro and Falmouth - and so thick that one has to render the fat down on the side before tackling the main chop, leaving it medium.....homemade apple sauce and one is away!

My evening meal was one of those "let's use up what's in the fridge" things. I diced up a third of can of corned beef and threw it into a frying pan with two thirds of a can of baked beans and a generous quantity of Korean-style BBQ sauce. Once it was heated through, I served it with two slices of buttered bread, with a banana to follow for dessert.
