Does She Really Love Me
2 Answers
I recently had a conversation with my girlfriend about being there during hard times, because she just seems to isolate herself from me during hard times, her reason is I seem to do better without her being around, she says I'm never happy, and she right, recently I've had a hard time, I lost my job because I wasn't able to perform it as I got an ICD placed in my side and it also makes it hard to find more jobs, also I'm going blind in my left eye. I was a welder for 10 years, but because of the ICD I'm not able to go back to welding. I've tried to have conversations with her just seems to be growing further apart

You are going through a hard time and if your girlfriend believes you do better without her, maybe you are pushing her away, withdrawing in to yourself.
Maybe your girlfriend is depressed herself and doesn't have the energy to cope with your problems at the moment. Have you asked her how she is, how her life is going?

Barry's answer is very good but it is only part of the possible scenarios as I'm I'm sure he would agree.
People are unbelievably complicated and two of them together can produce so so many permutations it is mind boggling.
The only way to make relationships really work is to communicate, really communicate. So many people are afraid to say what they really mean because they are frightened of how their partner would react. It is often easier to pretend to be something else.
You need to ask her if you can work together to decisde what it is that each of you really want and see it there is enough common ground to build something that you can both live with if that is important enough in you personal aspirations.
Every journey is different.
Good luck.
