Is This The Final Nail In The Coffin For...

At a party a while ago, they got out a karaoke machine. after a few drinks they got me on it & even though I'm a bit shy I'm actually a really good singer & loads of people were surprised & complimented me a lot, however, after a while everyone started joining in with everyone else & we all started doing duets, trios, quartets etc, which was great & i was having a ball, but i also noticed that some of the other girls who had okay voices were taking it a bit too seriously & getting a bit irritated by me, & giving me weird little looks - even though i didn't even have the microphone (my voice is quite soulful & loud so didn't want to deafen anyone, & i don't like being too booming anyway!) I was encouraging them all & saying how good they all were (no-one was terrible)
Problem is, rather than thinking "oh i better stop as they don't like it", it thought, "I'm enjoying myself & if they're jealous thats their tough sh*t" & carried on
Should i have bowed out & been annoyed at them for getting petty about drunken karaoke? or did i do the right thing & refuse to be intimidated by something so silly & unreasonable? i was quite drunk & probably would have stopped if sober but was emboldened by alcohol
& before i get "perhaps you can't sing" they were all saying how great i was at the start, & so were all the guys there. a few said I should definitely do something with it
this isn't about the singing - why didn't i try to preserve my friendships with these girls & think about their feelings (we are not close friends) why did i think " tough, its not my fault, why should I apologise for having a good voice?"
I feel i was doing nothing wrong, but is that what matters?
we haven't fallen out, but i feel bad about it - but i haven't been to any parties there since, but then i don't know if they have had any...
any thoughts?

Why should you stop enjoying yourself just to save the faces of people are are really taking it all a bit too seriously.
You did no harm, and if people are 'off' with you, it says more about them than you. Enjoy yourself - and sod the miserable faces - they are not your close friends, life's too short to worry about what they think.
