My Brother Told Me He Raped A Girl 10 Years Ago. What Should I Do?

My brother and I were talking earlier today. He's 27 now. He told me when he was 18, he was at a party. One of his friends his age brought her 16 year old sister. She left her 16 year old sister at the party. Some guy was hitting on her. My brother was in the other room, so she went and asked my brother if she could hang out with him. They had sex. I don't know if it happend again or what but my brother said it felt wrong so they stopped. The age of consent where we live is 18, so it was statutory rape. I don't know what to do. Should I call the police even though it happened 10 years ago?

Difficult to call.  Before prosecuting I assume that the CPS would require the girl's evidence (they're unlikely to go ahead on just your hearsay). If it was entirely consensual she may not want it resurfacing. And are you sure your bro was telling the truth, not just idle macho bragging.

if he had forced or done it while she was unconscious then yes you ought to 

while it was technically illegal it doesn't sound like anyone was harmed by it and it is the kind of perfectly normal thing that teenagers do. leave it alone.

Your numerous posts suggest that you seem to constantly be looking for "sins" that other people have committed that you might be able to get them into trouble for.  

Leave your brother alone and Mind your own business.  Concentrate on your own life.  Consider how you might help other people instead of always trying to bring them down.

A serious question Cindy - have you considered counselling??

Almost every question I've read of yours, you always have a grievance with someone and you ask if you should report them.

 

In fact, I've just looked over some of your past questions and I seriously think that Cindy is a bot as they never reply to any of the threads.
