Apologies for absence - I've been laid up with a terrible migraine from the early hours of Saturday morning until yesterday. Not pleasant at all. I'm now at least 2 days behind on everything I have/had to do so loads of catching up. Hope everyone is ok? Can't believe Xmas Day is next week - where on earth did this year go?

I know, Smow. Christmas! I'd been plodding along, vaguely thinking about presents, food, drink etc. Yesterday, I got  all presents ordered. Thanks to the internet and everyone within it, especially Jeff Bezos!

Good morning, sorry to hear you have been laid up again, must be getting you down.

Had a look at Christmas food in Sainsburys yesterday, thinking I could get it in the freezer, but nothing fresh in yet.

Hoping it stays dry today, we are going on the steam train of lights (part of the Christmas festival this evening.). The train will all be lit up, as well as the route, including a tunnel.  We will have then seen the whole display.

Morning Clover - yep online has been my saviour the last week in getting last min presents! Must send Jeff a card lol.

Hi Ubasses. Oh I do hope it stays dry for your train tripthat sounds lovely. What time is it meant to be?  It's really damp and drizzly here.

Good morning all. So sorry Smow that you've been laid low. What awful timing. I hope you're up and running now and in time to pull Christmas together.

I know smow, the year has gone quick!! Glad you're feeling better to get on with catching up. I've got loads to do myself!

Morning Impatiens & SharonA - yep I seem to have had migraines re-appear after not having one for over 15 years at least. Why I do not know, but they never used to last almost 3 days, never. I've been given this vile migraine med to use as a nasal spray but it just runs down the back of your throat and the taste is horrendous. Doesn't work anyway. Hopefully they will soon go as quickly as they came. As for Xmas, well today I shall continue wrapping and see if I've forgotten anyone or anything & if so then an emergency online order!

not looking forward to the next few days ,i have a pre op assessment today and op on thursday ,my grandaughter said i must sit down over xmas so she will put a chair in front of the cooker lol x

Good morning everyone. Sorry you have been ill Smow. Stop worrying about Xmas, it will come and go. I'm sure you will have a roof over your head and food to eat, along with the well wishes of lots of people. Going to brave the supermarket today, hopefully for the last time before Xmas, and a visit to the opticians to collect new glasses.

Oh mallyh, try not to worry- am sure everything will go smoothly and you will be home before you know it. ( very considerate  to put a chair in front of the cooker lol!)

Calda - that was our weekend plan, to do the food shop but obv it all went out the window with me laid up. Think we are aiming to go tomorrow evening when work is finished.

mallyh - I send you every good wish that you are soon in recovery and feeling all the better for it xxx

Good morning, Smow (take it steady) and all.

Morning all. Pleased you are feeling a wee bit better Smow, those migraine appear far tpp regularly.

This is my first time back on-line for a week, the lappy decided to go belly up and I've had to have a new hard drive, whatever that means.

OH has just gone to docs as he has become more breathless, fingers crossed it is nothing serious, and just before Christmas too.

Have a happy day everyone

Good Morning everyone

Hey Choux good to see you back - how are you hanging?

We have booked the pm train Smow, the one without Santa! It is a 15 minute stop at the end of the line, then back at 9pm.

Morning Choux & DDIL : )

Rosetta, I hope that he is ok - good that he's managed to get to the doctors today & hopefully nip whatever it is in the bud.

ubasses - that train is going to look spectacular in the dark!

Sort you've had such a rough couple of days, Smow.  Hope your husband has been looking after you.

My wife used to get crippling migraines with severe vomiting and pain until the GP prescribed Imigran. It was so expensive at the time the prescription was for four.  She takes one as soon as she feels a migraine coming on and it stops it.

I believe newer drugs are available but Imigran suits her very well.

Don't get stressing about things to be done, in the great scheme of things, it will be okay.

Same humdrum here.

DDIL - I wouldn't want to go through all that again, for sure, but thanks for asking :)
If alba looks in - I have been an exemplary patient - lord knows how I managed that!

Hello folks. xx

Migraines are the devil. Migraleve pink and yellow tablets, used to be effective. Don't know if they are still prescribed.

Ubasses, that sounds lovely.

Mallyh, wishing you all the best xx and same wishes to those who have health hiccups.

Choux, "I've been an exemplary patient" and you said that with a straight face? ;)) am so happy you're posting xxx
