Out of curiosity, does anyone know of any old wives tales on how to start off labour?

P.S I'm a week overdue, but this is just curiosity, as my mum came up with a load of things she did which I found very strange!

if possible, do what you did to get pregnant, honestly the sperm contains something that will get you started, I did it with my first, but be ready because with me the pains came thick and fast and I was only in labour 3 and a half hours.

The midwife told me;have a nice curry,go for a bumpy drive,then do what comes naturally,this was when she was planning to induce me the next week, after her advice,I went into labour all by myself doing what comes naturally!(if u know what i mean)

there is a point on the sole of the feet which supposedly will start off labour if you massage it. It is something reflexologists do.

Unfortunately Molly they dont always come when they are ready and the placenta can begin to fail past 42wks, Its better to get into labour by natural methods than having to be induced. Randomsasha have you tried raspberry leaf tea and pineapple, also that natural method you thought, we thought you meant, - that can work too and there is nothing strange or wrong about that.
