Hmm well being 18, im going 2 struggle to come up with 800 .. hopefully there are cheaper ones available .. really want one done of me and my best friend, will be a good end to my last year of college :) Heard they are brilliant .. i guess i best save up :D Thank u :D

Hi Lou

I used the one in southampton in January and they had a thing on where the sitting and one photo was free. I got an 8x6 for 75, but I am lead now to believe that you can haggle quite a lot!

You can get a voucher, for a family session, giving you one hour's studio time (value 50) and a 7" x 5" framed print (value - if that's the right word - 75) for just 25 from the company's website, here:
http://www.thisisventure.co.uk/buynow/default.asp#

Obviously, the idea is that you take the whole family along and end up buying lots of prints at 75 each, so it might not be quite the bargain which, at first sight, it seems to be. At least it gives you an idea of their prices, anyway!

Thanks all you lot .. i think im gonna go in and hav a look :D

I had some done about 3 weeks ago, waitin for the album (10 photos) to be put togther...cost 815. its good fun, go online and get a voucher, it'll cost 25 but you get an hour in the studio then you get a free 7x5 photo or you can deduct 75 from a larger one.

It's well worth it, me and my best friend went and had a scream!!

PS I'm doing the interest free over 10 months as well...isn't quite as painful that way!
Very hard sell - they try and make you feel guilty for not buying more.
Yes there is one oposite my office in Maidstone. I got my portraits done by www.fourblankwalls.co.uk. We got one image on perspex and one of those thick ice range things for about 400.00 all in. Venture wanted about 2k. We had some goodish photos and they did a free design service and turned the whole family into warhol esq type images. I would never go back to venture again as they charge an absolute fortune for what is really cheap elsewhere.
great photos. relaxed , fun time, bring lots of props, - clothes, toys, hats, etc. get up to 90 shots taken then choose from a portfolio of 30 in a couple of weeks. - prices, - expensive from 300 to 2000 depending on thframe/presentations style. brilliant photographer- tell him/her what sort of shot you want and it will happen. loved number 3 in my collection but was told that i couldnt have that as a 7x5 as it was a 'panoramic shot' so be careful of these... will be haggling for this one!!! have fun!!
Yes the photos are great, but very expensive. Lots of other local photographers offer the same style of shots at a fraction of the cost. if you're located near london check out circlephotography.
I have just taken the children to Venture. I have to go back next week for the preview and I'm worried now I have seen the prices. They don't tell you the prices initially and it never crossed my mind, they could be so expensive. Is it possible to haggle? has any body done this?
Thanks
Kalira
Hi

My family and I went to Venture in Chester.
The quality of the photos was very poor and the prices UNBELIEVAVBLE!
They play on being trendy. They are a rip off!

Go elsewhere!
Hi i've been to a new studio in Fareham called Studiohaigh, its very similar to venture but the prices are alot more realistic, the staff are friendly and the pictures are just as good.
hi lou i woundnt recomend venture to you my mum won a sitting with them she wanted all her grankids so we went along and ended up choosing a pic for our self and paying 75 for a 7"x5" frame the picture was bloody alful my son was wearing a cap and they ended up cutting half his cap of so it looks like he has got a deformed head and he takes up half the picture my daughter takes up the hole of the bottom of the pic hard to explain but looks nothing like when they show you on there big screen all buyers beware and if anyone wants head office number 01606558854 they dont like giving out this number
Well it seems obvious the some of the replies are being places by employers of venture, I dont think anyone would post such positive replies having being taken for so much money.........must be really good salesmen(women) who play on the minds of devoted grannies and parents. I being a professional photogapher myself would. find it very hard to justify these prices.........Someone mentioned negociate the prices (haggle) thats what you do in a Bangkok Street Market, for a cheap T shir.......tMy advice, would be Look round,

avoid avoid avoid I am still gutted by the astronomic price for average photos that I could kick myself for buying...i would not recommend at all and suggest you find a good local photographer that will charge a decent price for a reasonable amount of photos.

BE WARNED
No I could not recommend it, simply because of the prices.
There is no option to buy unframed prints and get them custom-framed. Prices for framed prints suitable for wall-hanging:
11x14 inch 641
24x20 inch 994
30x20 inch 1112
An album of 10 5x5 inch prints would set you back 994.
There is a discount of 15% if you order at the preview (i.e. no time to think about it and potentially change your mind)
You can get good quality modern-style photos a lot cheaper elsewhere.
Wow, can't believe those prices. Am I allowed to mention fineartprintsondemand.com. You upload your own photos and you get back a beautifully finished stretched canvas at a fraction of that price. I'm so pleased with the print I got.
