Polycystic Ovaries
I was told yesterday after months of tests and scans that I have polycystic ovary syndrome. The doctor said that it is fairly common 1 in 10 women have it apparently. I am only 20 and not thinking about children at all but I am worried I wont be able to have children in the future ive got myself all upset and worried although I am glad I now know whats wrong. I can find loads of information about it online but I just wanted to know if any women on here also have polycystic ovary syndrome???
I dont know anyone.
thanks in advance

i have PCOS was diagnosed last month, im 24 and like you had all these worries, but my specialist explained there are many women who fall pregnant naturally,
Kym Marsh, Vicotria Beckham, Jules Oliver have PCOS and all have 2/3 kids each!
i posted a thread a couple of months back and got some great advice and reasurrance from AB users.
also my specialist said when i decide to start trying for a baby, give it 6 months then go see my GP where they can prescribe a tablet think its called Clomid, or something like that. also if you get referred to your speciallist they can give you a medicine that has been designed for diabetics but helps people wiwth fertility problems concieve.
honest i did worry, but medicine has come so far nowadays, i read about a 60/ 70 year old, i know it wasnt concieved naturally but if they can help her have a baby im sure it wouldnt be a problem should you need something like that!
