There a complete lack of really genuine scary films as they're all boringly gory.... can anyone suggest a REEEEEAAAAALLLLLLYYYYYYY creepy one for me to watch?
I thought the awful lady in the Japenese Ring was creepy and I kept thinking of her for ages!
No boring teen flicks please.... foreign films welcome.

Another, somewhat overlooked, one I like is "The Innocents" from 1961. After you get past the rather "jolly hockey sticks" first 15-or-so minutes, it really does evoke a genuinely creepy atmosphere.

Screamintree you're right, the Innocents is fantastic and not a drop of blood in it. The Others is a pale imitation. The book is a really hard read, though. (The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.) I've seen a play of it and that was brilliant too. Also, the book of the Shining is as atmospheric as the films (both versions).
The Grudge is quite good, I found Creep very boring and a disappointment. The Hole was quite good, more of a chiller though than a horror. Dog Soldiers is also pretty good if you like Wearwolf movies, it is an English made low budget movie that was a surprise hit.
A lot of the horror movies I have seen in the last few years have not been scary at all. I found the Descent not to my taste, although the plot was quite good.
One of the scariest for me was The Blair Witch Project, simply because you had to use your imagination and mine is pretty active! I know that plenty will disagree with me though!
Another good movie although a few years old now and you may not find it in the shops, is Jacobs Ladder. I found that pretty scary and the surprise ending is good. Anyone else seen it and agree with me?

Susperia is great very creep about a girl who joins a european ballet school that turnes to be run by witches of sorts.
Dream Demon is a good English effort, a classic scene where a bride to be is dreaming and punches her husbands head off his shoulders..........
I like scary chuff too, fave from that lot would be Jason takes Manhattan, awsome.
