morning after pill

My last period finished on Friday, I had sex on Saturday night but the condom split, so I went to get the Morning After Pill on Sunday morning. It is Friday and I've started bleeing like i usually do when I'm on my period. I was wondering if this is alright because I know bleeding can be a side-effect of taking the pill x

best thing to do would be to go see your gp, or talk to a pharmist, I wouldn't worry but do seek advice

assuming you took levonelle 1500 the side effects include menstrual irregularities and you are normally advised that you should expect a bleed within 3 weeks of taking the morning tablet and next cycle things should return to normal so I wouldn't panic too much! if you had further irregularities next cycle then might be worth checking out with practice nurse or family planning.
